How much time should I expect to spend on this DeCal?
The workload for this beginning section should not be hard and I expect that it will not consume too much of your time. Aside from attending lecture, working on the labs and homework should take around an hour at most and work, in general, will ease up during midterms as facilitators are students, too. It is entirely up to you as to how much you want to spend working on the projects and labs; there are always opportunities to expand upon what has been taught and the easiest way to learn Unix system administration is through doing, not just reading.
